On July 20th, China Unicom Global Limited (“China Unicom Global” for short) and AsiaInfo Technologies (China), Inc. (“AsiaInfo” for short) reached a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai aimed at expanding into overseas markets. Meng Shusen, Chairman and General Manager of China Unicom Global, and Wang Qinglin, Vice President of AsiaInfo, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.

According to the agreement, both parties will integrate resources, learn and leverage complementary strengths, and focus on overseas business operations, customer expansion, etc., striving for mutual progress. The scope of cooperation includes but is not limited to: Jointly developing business operation strategies and providing related services for overseas telecommunications operators and Chinese enterprises expanding overseas businesses, as well as enhancing operational efficiency in the global market through digital intelligence capabilities; Jointly conducting market research, sharing customer resources and market channels to enhance both parties' overseas recognition and influence; Sharing technological resources such as 5G, cloud computing, big data, and AI, as well as market information and business opportunities in sectors like telecommunications, government affairs, energy sources, mining, transportation, and finance, working together to ensure a win-win result for overseas businesses. Both parties will strengthen high-level interactions and develop dedicated mechanisms to ensure smooth cooperation.

Meng Shusen expressed that with its global presence, China Unicom Global leverages abundant international sea and land cable resources, expert-level system integration capabilities, and digital technology innovation advantages to provide comprehensive information solutions such as global connectivity, cloud computing, data centers, ICT, and IoT to global service providers and enterprise customers while offering worldwide voice and data roaming services to individual users. For now, China Unicom Global has become a trusted creator of international digital service value. It is hoped that both parties could combine respective strengths, focus on overseas markets, and jointly achieve outstanding results in their international expansion endeavors based on this cooperation.
Wang Qinglin noted that as a leading provider of IT products and services, AsiaInfo has been collaborating with China Unicom for nearly 30 years. AsiaInfo boasts profound experience in digital intelligence transformation across many industries such as telecommunications, energy sources, government affairs, transportation, and finance. In 2023, AsiaInfo proposed the “Four Transformations” business development strategy, emphasizing the shift in business scope from “domestic business” to “domestic + international businesses,” placing greater emphasis on the international market. It aims to facilitate global customers' digital intelligence transformations through standardized products, systematic services, and refined operations.
