In a recent announcement made during the prestigious 2024 China 5G Development Conference, the results of the highly anticipated “Blooming Cup” 5G Application Competition, organized under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) guidance, were unveiled. China Broadcast Network and AsiaInfo jointly emerged victorious, winning the national first prize for their groundbreaking 5G wind power private network project - a global first featuring a fully localized core network. Notably, this is the sole wind power industry case among the national first-prize winners and follows an earlier triumph at the “Energy and Non-ferrous Metals” themed competition.

On December 10, 2024, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of China's nuclear industry development, the largest 5G private network for nuclear power in China, the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant 5G Private Network in Haiyan, Zhejiang Province, jointly built by China Mobile System Integration Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Mobile, AsiaInfo, and China Nuclear Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., was officially launched. Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant has thus become China's first nuclear power base to achieve the synchronous launch of a 5G private network across multiple plant areas.

Now, as it approaches its 40th anniversary, Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant is once again at the forefront of innovation—AsiaInfo's self-developed P5G (Private 5G) network and 5G LAN (Local Area Network) core functions tailored for the nuclear power plant's circulating water system have been successfully implemented at Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, representing the first commercial application of 5G LAN technology integrated with a P5G network in the nuclear power sector.
