On May 18, the 7th World Intelligence Conference, co-organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, China Media Group, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the People's Government of Tianjin Municipality, was grandly opened in Tianjin. Wan Gang, vice chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, delivered a keynote speech, and Chen Min'er, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, Li Zhisheng, Minister of National Development of Singapore, Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education, and Wang Zhigang, Minister of Science and Technology delivered speeches. Zhang Gong, mayor and deputy secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, presided over the opening ceremony. 

Gao Nianshu, CEO and executive director of AsiaInfo, Liang Bin, senior vice president of AsiaInfo, and Chen Wu, senior vice president of AsiaInfo, were invited to attend the opening ceremony. On the evening of the 17th, Gao Nianshu was also invited to attend a welcome dinner hosted by the Tianjin Government and Municipal Party Committee.

Chen Min'er delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the conference, stating that Tianjin was developing intelligent technology industry with opportunities for coordinated development between Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, as well as a solid industrial base and advantages in science and education talent resources. Tianjin will enhance high-quality development depending on intelligent technology, assist in high-level reform and opening up, empower efficient governance, create high-quality life, and promote intelligent technology to empower thousands of industries integrating into huge numbers of families. It is hoped with the conference as a medium to strengthen exchange and communication, industry cooperation and project implementation, chase wider development space and more sustainable growth momentum, and share new development opportunities of digital economy.

Gao Nianshu said that as a national central city and municipality directly under the central government, Tianjin played an important role in regional economic development and industrial cooperation. After 7 times of development, the World Intelligence Conference has become an important showcase for the construction of “Smart Tianjin” and “Digital China”.
