On March 23, AsiaInfo and Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR), Tsinghua University jointly released the first A White Paper of AIGC (GPT-4) Empowering Telecom Sector in the industry. How to build a GPT in the communication industry? How does AIGC empower various business scenarios in the application layer of the communication industry? This industry's first white paper provides preliminary answers. In the form of systematic exposition and scenario analysis, the white paper introduces the various typical application scenarios in the fields of IT and network in the GPT-4 empowering communication industry, as well as the innovative ideas of constructing proprietary GPT (TelcoGPT) in the communication industry.

In the global upsurge of ChatGPT/GPT-4, people deeply realize that AI has become a transformative technology and a key force in economic and social development. Major industries around the world will usher in great leaps and breakthrough development, and the world competition pattern will also be deeply affected in the future. How does AIGC empower the applications in the Communication industry? How to implement AIGC in the communication industry? It is a question that practitioners in the communication industry must ponder and answer. 

AsiaInfo and Institute for AI Industry Research, Tsinghua University have established the "Joint Research Center for 6G Networks and Intelligent Computing", which is oriented to the cutting-edge development of next-generation communication network (6G) and artificial intelligence, and have jointly carried out original, leading and breakthrough technology research on 6G networks and intelligent computing, empowering 6G networks, autonomous networks, IT software infrastructure, big data, privacy computing, federated learning and digital intelligence application in the communication industry with the combination of mobile communication and intelligent computing, so as to strengthen the construction of a new information infrastructure that supports the integration of 6G Space-Air-Ground and Symbiotic-Sensing-Computing in the future. At the same time, the two sides will jointly create a TelcoGPT large model application in the communication industry.

TelcoGPT will be used as an advanced productivity tool to improve the capabilities of information and communication services, deeply empowering the communication industry from all levels. It is expected that colleagues in the industry will collaborate and innovate around communications and artificial intelligence, build an open and shared innovation ecology, promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and communications industry, accelerate the construction of 6G digital infrastructure with endogenous intelligence and inclusive intelligence, to further promote the process of economic and social digital intelligence transformation.
