The “MEET2021 Smart Future Conference”, which was hosted by QBITAI, China’s leading media in AI, and focused on the annual results of the academic and industrial circles, was held in Beijing on December 16. Industry colleagues gathered together to discuss technological development and look forward to the future of the industry. Tan Jianrong, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Li Kaifu, Chairman and CEO of Sinovation Ventures, and dozens of executives from leading enterprises such as AsiaInfo, Xiaomi, Meituan, Inspur, and experts and scholars from Tsinghua University and other universities attended the conference and delivered speeches; nearly 1,000 industry professionals participated the conference.

The selection of 2020 QBITAI AWARDS lasted 3 months. It can be seen from the list of award-winning AI enterprises, technology core, faith of capital, business success and customer trust are taken as important evaluation dimensions, covering 5G, computer vision, natural language processing, voice, chips and other fields, across vertical industries such as communications, finance, healthcare, education, transportation, retail, etc. The listed enterprises not only consist of senior and influential dominant companies, but also the leading companies in various industries. For the candidate list of AI leading figures, in-depth collection and research were made in terms of candidates’ contributions to AI industrialization, peer technical reviews, and data such as professional papers, patents, and soft contributions, etc., in combination with the scores and evaluations of multiple academicians and hundreds of industry experts, to finally form the list of winners. Since the start of global commercial use of 3G in 2000, the communications ecosystem has produced massive amounts of data, providing an available and high-quality data source for the development and application of artificial intelligence in the communications field. The introduction of deep learning in 2006 marked the rise of the third wave of artificial intelligence development, and machine learning, deep learning, and enhanced learning began to be tried in multiple application scenarios in mobile communications. Only the 15 years of academic achievements in the field of communications AI in IEEE Explore from 2006 to the present have reached 6.42 times the amount before 2006. AsiaInfo founded “Telco AI Labs”, a communications AI innovation laboratory, to keep up with market demand and promote AI technology innovation and product R&D. The laboratory has obtained a number of AI software copyrights and obtained more than 100 international and domestic patents; actively joined international and domestic authoritative organizations such as 3GPP, GSMA and ITU to participate in the compilation and formulation of industry standards (such as 3GPP R17 and the first international standard of AI federated learning in the field of communications, and a number of standard proposals participated by it were passed by related meetings of ITU), and has gained the affirmation of international and domestic authoritative organizations for a number of technologies and products (for example, its global artificial intelligence platform AISWare AI² was listed into the Recommendation Catalog of Products and Activities of Digital Empowerment Services for SMEs, the global intelligent operations platform AISWare AIOps won the second place of “2020 International AIOps Challenge”, and the intelligent network security recorder won the “2020 CIS Top Ten Innovative Products Award”, etc.).
