At the recently concluded 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, AI as well as AI-driven connectivity and innovations became centre of attention with all the participants. On April 10, Tian Suning, Co-founder of Asiainfo and Chairman of Asiainfo Technologies was invited to attend the 2025 GSMA Post-MWC Sharing initiated by GSMA (MWC organizer), gathering together with global communication industry leaders, GSMA and communication operator executives, leading enterprise representatives and industry experts to discuss topics such as industrial innovation, operator transformation and international collaboration in the AI era.

At the event, Tian Suning engaged in a dynamic dialogue with Li Zhengmao (Chairman of the WBBA Board), Gao Tongqing (Chairman of GTI), Xu Ziyang (President of ZTE) and Li Jian (CEO of Honor) on topics including the convergence between mobile technologies and AI, the latest AI breakthroughs, and the mobile AI innovations. Their discussion delivered an insightful high-level dialogue on ecological industry for participants.

Tian Suning stated that since the 3G era, communication operators have increasingly become "infrastructure-oriented". However, AI now presents a new transformation opportunity for us.

He believes that humanity is currently in the "Great Data Discovery" era, where the vast data generated by the functioning of all things – whether human data, life data or industrial production data – serves as the nutrient promoting technological innovation, economic prosperity and societal progress. "Data" is one of the core elements of AI. Over the past 200 years, the communication industry has primarily focused on the data transmission. If communication networks evolve from mere information transmission channels into human nervous system-like sensing networks that absorb, process and apply various data from humans, events and objects, humanity will usher in the true AGI era! Relying on such networks, the communication operators will evolve from infrastructure providers into data producers and operators. By synergizing the entire industry chain and integrating technological innovation, to B, and to C application services, we will undoubtedly achieve refreshing technological breakthroughs and sustained growth in the AI era.

We are currently in the critical phase of industrial digital and intelligent transformation, witnessing a historic inflection point in the AI revolution. The 19th-century electric revolution laid the foundation for chemical synthesis technologies, and the resulting synthetic products gave rise to many entirely new industries. Driven by the AI revolution, the synthesis of data and knowledge will also give rise to entirely new industries, while AI will reshape the existing industries and restructure the social framework.
