The Second General Meeting of the China Poverty-alleviation Promotion of Volunteer Service (CPPVS) was held in Beijing on April 17. AsiaInfo was elected member of its Second Council in the meeting.
Liu Huanxin, Deputy Director of Office of the Central Leading Group for Rural Affairs, member of Leading Party Group, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Secretary of Leading Party Group and Head of National Rural Revitalization Administration and Zhan Chengfu, member of Leading Party Group and Deputy Head of Ministry of Civil Affairs attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The Report on the Work of the First Council, the Financial Report of the First Council and the Report on the Work of the First Board of Supervisors were made, deliberated and passed on the meeting. Two motions of change in the name of CPPVS and revision to its Articles of Association were discussed and passed. Members of the Second Council and supervisors of the Board of Supervisors were also elected.
CPPVS President Liu Yongfu gave a speech on behalf of the newly elected leadership team. He suggested that the new leadership team would strive to build CPPVS into an organization with great political awareness and business competencies, enhance public welfare projects towards normalized, information-based and transparent operations, further allocate social resources to rural development, and give full play to talents and efforts of members and expert volunteers to jointly contribute to rural revitalization and common prosperity in China.
